Returning to Poznań for DREMA 2025 felt like a homecoming, but with a distinctly different energy. If last year was about vision and meeting face-to-face for the first time, this year was about execution and proof.
The atmosphere at the fair remains as vibrant as ever, serving as the heartbeat of the Central European wood industry. But for RollingWood, the conversation has shifted. We are no longer just talking about what could be done; we are showing what we are doing.
Beyond the Cart: Real Solutions in 3D
Longtime followers will remember our “mascot” from last year: Gábor’s repurposed beach cart, hauling logs to demonstrate our stereo camera concept. That cart served us well this year also, but now we were able to showcase reality.

We were proud to present the results of our Truck Volume Measurement Gates. Since our last visit, we’ve successfully deployed two new gates, proving that our Intel-powered stereo camera technology can deliver robust, centimeter-accurate 3D models of loaded trucks in real operational environments.
But the star of the show this year was something that fits in your pocket.
LiDAR in the Palm of Your Hand
We officially introduced the DREMA crowd to Pile3D, our handheld solution for roadside woodpiles. With the Polish State Forests currently exploring digitalization, the timing couldn’t be better.
While the industry has been experimenting with 2D photo-based solutions, we demonstrated why depth matters. Using the LiDAR technology built into modern iPhones, we showed visitors how walking past a woodpile just twice can generate a precision 3D model—capturing height profiles, floor levels, and individual log diameters with a level of detail that simple photography just can’t match.
Deepening Ties and Looking Forward
The fair wasn’t just about showing off technology; it was about the people who use it. We had the privilege of reconnecting with partners from major industry players—friends we made last year and have been working with since.
The feedback was clear: the industry is ready to move beyond simple estimation. There is a hunger for the transparency and accuracy that only true 3D measurement can provide. Whether it was discussing pilot programs with key forestry decision-makers or showing mill operators our automated gates, the enthusiasm for RollingWood’s approach was palpable.
The Human Element
Of course, it wouldn’t be a RollingWood trip without the team spirit. DREMA gave us another precious opportunity to gather our international team in one place. Between the demos and the meetings, we shared meals, debated the future of forestry, and celebrated how far we’ve come in just 12 months.

Leaving Poznań this year, the path ahead is clear. We are moving from “testing” to “trusting,” bringing the precision of digital measurement to the forests and gates of Europe.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand. See you in the forest!
